Stihl KM 131R Kombi Engine

The Stihl KM 131R Kombi Engine, One of STIHL’s top performance Kombi Engines with loop-handled operation.

Compatible with a range of twelve attachments, the KM 131 R gives you the versatility you need for maximum efficiency while working.

STIHL’s updated 4-MIX engine

Succeeding from the KM 130 R, this model has an updated 4-MIX engine, which facilitates easier starting, better handling and an increased fuel tank capacity. The 4-MIX technology means this engine runs on a fuel-oil mix just like a 2-stroke machine, while benefiting from fast acceleration, high power and increased torque, with lower emissions, reduced noise and better fuel efficiency.

Compact & lightweight, with easy operation

This engine unit weighs just 4.4 kg, and benefits from a multi-function control handle with all the engine controls grouped together so you can reach them with one hand. Other clever ease-of-use features include a manual fuel pump, so that fewer strokes are necessary for starting, as well as a decompression valve that results in less force required on the starter rope. An auto-reset stop switch enables effortless restarting, with the switch defaulting back to the start position after use.

Tackle a range of garden jobs with an impressive selection of attachments

As a loop-handled machine, the KM 131 R is perfect for working in tighter areas, such as thinning between bushes and shrubs. It is compatible with the full range of KombiTools, making twelve in total, and ranging from a blower to an edge trimmer, bristle brush and pick tines. These attachments are quick to fit and remove, courtesy of a quick-release coupling system.

    Standard equipment

  • Loop handle (R)

The loop handled grass trimmers and brushcutters are ideal for working in areas where space is limited, e.g. thinning between bushes and shrubs.

  • STIHL 4-MIX® engine

You can always rely on STIHL to keep setting new benchmarks this time with 4-stroke mixed lubrication technology. The STIHL 4-MIX® engine, which runs on a fuel-oil mix just like a 2-stroke, offers the benefits without the compromises of 4-stroke power. STIHL 4-MIX engine technology provides fast acceleration, more power, added torque, lower noise, reduced emissions and increased fuel efficiency to complete jobs quickly, quietly and more easily.

  • Manual fuel pump

If your gasoline-powered engine device has a manual fuel pump, you can reduce the number of starting strokes by about 40% by repeatedly pressing the pump. By starting in this way, there is enough fuel available faster.

  • Multi-function control handle with stop button

Easy, comfortable thumb-operated control means the operator’s hand never leaves the handle. You do not need to control the stop button when restarting. The engine can be started at any time.

  • Quick-release coupling

The quick-release coupling allows the KombiSystem to be quickly dismantled into two parts for easy transport and storage – and then re-assembled quickly without tools.

  • Anti-vibration system

Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system whereby the oscillations from the machine’s engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.

  • Air filter with long service life

The easily accessible paper filter with a long service life means it can go for long intervals without changing. (similar to illustration)

  • Decompression system

The decompression valve allows some of the compression pressure in the cylinder to escape, so less force on the starter rope is needed.
